Victor of Circumstance: Live, Laugh, LOVE!
Okay, so today while I was working out in the weight room at the gym I couldn't help from being entertained by these two elderly ladies laughing hysterically with each other. It reminded me of how my sister and I and interact with one another. It was so refreshing to hear.
Much too often laughter is not heard especially not in the weight room on a Monday morning while working out. :) These ladies were cracking their selves up ( and me ) trying new machines, standing when they should've been sitting, and pulling when they should've been pushing... It was comical and just a little scary to say the least. ;)
I just had to go over to them and introduce myself and let them know that they put me in mind of how my little sister and I act when we're together. They loved hearing it! They watched me while I worked out and praised me for my efforts and physique. They reminded me, that to them, I was just a child. (meet my new best friends)
That was when a light bulb went off in this overthinking head of mine! I asked the ladies how old they were, reluctantly they answered. Both of them were in their 80's. Roughly twice my age. An elderly gentleman standing nearby chimed in with his age and words of wisdom and encouragement as well. He told me to continue on the path that I'm on, work out, eat right, live healthy and most importantly don't' forget to have FUN. They all said one thing in common... They'd wished they were doing what I was doing when they were my age. Ah Ha!
What turned out to be a great time in the gym was also a reminder, EYE OPENER and lesson if you will. Just when you may be thinking that your life is not what you had hoped for, thought of, imagined, dreamed or planned for... OR that you are too old or too whatever to make a change... It's NEVER too late to start over or START NEW! Life is a story! If you don't like yours, turn the page! Start a new chapter... You only get one. Make it matter. Live it Happy. Remember, whether you're 42 or 84... Each day is a new story for you to write. Write it HAPPY! LIFE IS SHORT!
As always, I write to relate, in hopes that my stories along my life's journey will help you in yours. In my days of pity or self loathing I will remember these ladies (and gentleman) and remember that I am just a child and have many wonderful years, chapters and stories remaining that are still waiting to be written.
Love and Blessings,
